| "I was born in the small village of Adna, Washington, |
| A town that still lies nestled among the ever- |
| green hills |
| and patchwork dairy farms. |
| Mt. Rainier majestically reigns there, |
| Then, as now. |
| Recollections of my childhood are highly visual pictures; |
| of glittering mornings rounding up brown and white cows, |
| skinny-dipping in the dark green Chehalis River, |
| Climbing the old moss covered maples, |
| Eerie moonlight rides on my copper colored horse. |
| Reoccurring images in my artwork; |
| Trees, strong like women, awesome like men |
| With great personalities, |
| Landscapes managed by human hand, |
| Clouds that move like white horses through the heavens. |
| Having lived in Montana and gone to UM, |
| I developed an obsessive love for |
| Open space, as I explored it by horseback. |
| Other fascinating places that have influenced my artwork |
| And philosophy of life; |
| The dignity and serenity of China, |
| Pinks and purples of Arizona, |
| The untouched landscapes of Alaska, |
| And the wildly complicated scenarios of New York City. |
| I graduated from the University of Washington in the 70's, |
| An interesting time; |
| Of frenzied exploration and real decision making. |
| In my artwork, I often hide life's secrets |
| And the resulting mysteries that sometimes lie dormant. |
| I bring ideas and stories to life through symbolism. |
| Teaching painting and drawing to young people helps me grow my ideas as well. |
| My son, Aubin is my finest creation. |
| Edlee, my husband, brings me back to earth and Tacoma. |
| I give glory to God through my art. |
| And He blesses me every day... |
| Art is my raison d'etre." |
